The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It

The Perfect Mile: Three Athletes, One Goal, and Less Than Four Minutes to Achieve It - Neal Bascomb I really enjoy stories of endurance and achievement, and this one was great. Very well written, and even though I knew how it would turn out, still, I couldn't put it down. Great book.

My father was a young man during the time of this book. He frequently spoke quite fondly of how the entire world was focused on the quest for the 4 minute mile. It's a shame that we don't have this sort of hero any more. He thought the world of Bannister, and I grew up hearing my dad tell these stories. I'm sorry he's not alive to read the book, he'd love it.
